United Methodist Women (UMW)
The entire program and organization of United Methodist Women focuses on mission. Our mission initiatives include:
- Providing opportunities to grow spiritually
- Equipping women & girls to be leaders
- Providing transformative educational experiences
- Organizing for growth & flexibility
- Working for justice through service and advocacy
From its beginning, United Methodist Women has focused on ministries with women, children, and youth. This group meets on the 4th Tuesday of Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept, and Nov. at 10:30am. Circle meetings are the 3rd Monday of the same month’s and meet at the following times Dana Tyson at 1pm. The Bleeka Wren circle meets the first Sunday of the same month’s at noon.
Bind Us Together Quilters
This group came together to share our deep appreciation to Veterans for the sacrifices they make to keep this country safe and to be able to live in freedom. This group invites anyone interested in being involved to join us. We meet Tuesday mornings at 10am for a couple of hours to sew quilts, pillow cases, and lap quilts for wounded veterans.
St. Andrews Methodist Men meet on the third Sunday of each month at 7:45am for fellowship and a light breakfast, to discuss various events that are pending within our church. We make ourselves available to the women of the church, helping with their spring and fall yard sale, to make repairs to the church and parsonage and to anyone in our congregation in need of assistance, from minor repairs to providing rides for the elderly to the doctor or church.
We have recently had an interesting lecture series and discussion on “Why Men Hate Going to Church” taken from the book of the same name. This discussion brought up many ideas on how to make our church for friendly.
We invite all men in the church to join us as we welcome ideas on other mission projects with what we can do to make our church a more meaningful place to gather and worship.
